Afterdeath

Death is only the beginning

In this paranormal thriller, the universe of Death lies through the tiny keyhole of an immovable door.
Raised by their grandmother after their parents’ death, Chloe and Olivia Borders now mourn Rose. The Alzheimer’s that forced their splitting into separate foster homes took their last living family member. In order to rekindle their friendship, the twins commit to a road trip— which spells their demise.

Unruly Greevers, God Kings and Ghouls

Afterdeath thrusts them into the kingdoms of Death, where the normal laws of physics no longer apply. At first, confusion takes over as this new world confronts them with pitfalls and dangers they never expected. Even though their physical envelope disappeared, other types of threats lurk around every dark turn. As a matter of fact, soul prisons full of angry spirits, Greevers stalking the roads of the afterlife, God Kings and Queens ruling over their legions of the dead- all these things and more await the unsuspecting twins as they attempt to find their way forward in this new paranormal existence of theirs.

Now the question becomes: What occurs after, and how will they get back to life? Consequently, their search begins for a way back to the land of the living. At least they meet souls who appear willing to help them, however, who knows what their true motives are? Be that as it may, the twins must learn to trust the right souls, or forever remain trapped in this version of the afterlife.

Afterdeath throws the reader into unexpected twists and turns, each one more outlandish and implausible. Indeed, its basis stem from dreams, transcribed to the page, turning subconscious into narrative. Thus Afterdeath came to be: a series of eerie images married to a great narrative, which toe the line between reality and the dream.

What the critics are saying

Original, interesting, well written. I’ve read a lot of sci-fi fantasy stuff and mostly it’s predictable. This was out there. The characters were relatable and you are drawn into the story. A good read.”

I really enjoyed this book. Benoit Chartier wrote a thrilling plot that kept me at the edge of my seat. His characters were well developed and each one had their own unique personality. And the ending was really cool!! I really hope that he writes a continuation of this book.
